In unincorporated Palm Beach County, permits come from the Planning, Zoning and Building Department's Building Division, which takes applications online through its ePZB portal around the clock. The cities run their own building departments.

  • Outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone: the Florida Building Code's strictest wind zone covers only Miami-Dade and Broward. Palm Beach County still gets the full hurricane season, June 1 to November 30 (NOAA).
